The Ford Motor Company is the only major US auto company to have shunned government aid.  They are also the # 1 most social automotive brand.  I am wondering if there is a connection between successful use of social media and financial stability.  This post provides an overview of what For is doing in social media.

At the OMMA Global 2009 Conference in 2009, Scott Monty, Global Digital & Multimedia Communications Manager of the Ford Motor Company was the keynote speaker and shared how Ford set out to be the most social automotive brand in 3 years and how they did it in only 6 months.  It seems that Ford’s success can be attributed to the clarity of Ford’s mission which Scott recaps in his presentation which he posted on Slideshare:  “Strategy to humanize the company by connecting constituents with Ford employees and each other when possible, providing value in the process.”  It looks like it is working.
